AP+ should be operational in Nouméa on 4 October 2011

Jean-Pierre Héraut, Président of the New Caledonia Maritime and Port Federation (UMEP), and François Mahé des Portes, President of the Executive Board, signed a framework agreement on Monday 3 May making provision for the rollout of AP+ in Nouméa on 4 October 2011.

Following on from Fort-de-France, the first port in the Caribbean to equip itself with AP+ and then Cayenne, the first port on the American continent, Nouméa is the first port in Oceania joining the AP+ community.

MGI has enjoyed a number of back-to-back successes at the start of 2010 signing contracts with Algiers, French Guiana, Mayotte and now Nouméa.  All of these port communities have chosen MGI to roll out AP+ in their ports. They based their decision on the IT and logistics expertise, professionalism, commitment and dynamism of the MGI teams.

“Once again, the private and public port community is stressing its duty to be an efficient body”, explained François Mahé des Portes.
Jean-Pierre Héraut added that “it was stimulating to captain a ship with a lot of sailors who are all moving in the same direction. It has been difficult but we are on course.”

The New Caledonia UMEP administrators requested Sylvie Lefebvre as project manager and their request was granted. The pre-rollout audit carried out by MGI in conjunction with the port’s private and public sector stakeholders has got underway.
“The audit is the first step in an overall quality approach undertaken by all the Port of Nouméa stakeholders”, added Sylvie Lefebvre.
